The lockdown of the corona virus has put economic pressure on India and employees across the country are anxious to know their future deposit status. Fortunately, every member of the Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) can verify their existence by an SMS or missed call.
Send SMS 7738299899 with your EPFO Universal Account Number (UAN). The message should be in this format - EPFOHO Your UAN ENG. ENG is the first three letters for English. The service is available in nine languages - Hindi, Punjabi, Gujarati, Marathi, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Bengali. Type the first three letters of the language you want instead of ENG.
For example, in Tamil, type EPFOHO as your UAN TAM, or in Malyalam type EPFOHO as your UAN MAL.
Remember to link your UAE to your bank account, PAN and Aadhaar, otherwise ask your employer to do this for you. EPFO only sends information to registered members.
Via missed call:
EPFO allows you to verify your presence with a simple missed call. For more details, please call the missed call on 011-22901406.
Please confirm again that your bank account, Aadhaar and PAN have been planted to your UAN.
Employees can use the Umang app on the App Store and Google Play, or follow these steps by visiting the EPFO portal www.epfindia.gov.in
